Information:

Nouns are people, places and things.

Some nouns are  masucline and some nouns are feminine.
Some adjectives are feminine and some adjectives are masculine.

How can you tell the difference between the masculine and feminine nouns?
Excellent question:
The masculine nouns usually end in the letter "o" and use the masculine article "le".
The feminine nouns usually ends in the letter "a" and use the feminine article "la".
Plural nouns use the plural article "les", whether they are masculine or feminine.

"le", "la" and "les" are articles and can be translated as "the".

There are two words that you can use for bicycle.
One of the words is a feminine noun and the other word is the masculine noun.
A male person can use the noun "la bicyclette" and a female person can use the noun "le vélo" and vice versa.

(feminine singular)    la bicyclette - the bicycle
(feminine plural)       les bicyclette - the bicycles

(masculine singular)  le vélo - the bicycle
(masculine plural)     les vélos - the bicycles

Notice that both feminine and masculine plurals use the same article "les".

Why is it important to know the difference
between the masculine and feminine adejectives? (colors are adjectives)
That is an excellent question.
The reason you need to know the difference between the masculine and feminine adjectives is not for speaking purposes. It's for the purpose of writing correctly. The rule is that  you use masculine adjectives with  masculine nouns and use the feminine adjectives with feminine nouns. You also need to use the plural masculine nouns with plural masculine adjectives and  plural feminine nouns with plural feminine adjectives.

I recommend you do the program Couleurs - Colors and learn the difference between the masculine and feminine colors. Click Here

la liaison - When two words are slurred together by a consonant and a vowel like in  "vous avez", which sounds like "voo Zavay" (the 's' at the end of "vous" sounds like 'z' in front of "avez").
So in this program listen closely to  pronouns and verbs slurring together and articles and nouns slurring together.
