Adjetivos Instrucciones

Adjectives are describing words.
Adjectives describe nouns.
In theses videos, you will learn that in Spanish,
the adjective comes after the noun.
You will also get practice with "Noun - Verb" agreement
Noun-Verb Agreement
feminine articles - la, una
masculine articles - el, un
If the article of the "noun" is feminine, the adjective ends in an "a".
If the article of the "noun" is masculine, the adjective ends in an "o".
For example. " La puerta - the door" - is a feminine noun,
so the adjectives describing "la puerta" will end in an "a".
La puerta cerrada. - The closed door.
La puerta abierta. - The open door
La puerta sucia. - The dirty door.
La puerta limpia. - The clean door.
Because "el armario" is a masculine noun,
the adjectives describing "el armario" will end in an "o".
El armario cerrado. - The closed closet.
El armario abierto. - The open closet.
El armario desordenado. - The messy closet.
El armario organizado. - The organized closet.
There are exceptions to the rules.
For example, a word like "el programa - the program".
"Programa" ends in "a" but uses the article "el".
Because the word "programa" uses the article "el" adjectives will end in an "o",
but the "noun" will still end in an "a".
For example: El programa es bueno. - The program is good.
La radio está encendida. - The radio is off
Note
If you see an adjective that ends in an "o",
you know that it also ends in "a".
Note
Nouns that end in "o", will use the articles "el, un".
Nouns that end in "a" will use the articles "la, una".
There are exceptions with nouns like "el programa and "la radio".

Nouns that don't end in an "a" or an "o".

For example: "el refrigerador" and "la televisión"
These nouns do not have an "o" or an "a" ending which would indicate
which article to use,  ("la, una") or ("el, un").
So, with words like "refrigerador and televisión"
you have to remember which articles go with these kinds of nouns.
Remember
If the noun has the "el" or "un" article use the "o" ending of the adjective,
if the word has the "la" or "una" article use the "a" ending of the adjective.
Example:
"El refrigerador está apagado." - "The refrigerator is off."
The adjective "apagado" ends in an "o" agreeing with the article "el".
"La televisión está apagada" - "The television is off."
The adjective "apagada" ends in an "a" agreeing with the article "la".
Is this sentence correct?
La camisa es roto.
You are correct if you said, "no" because the adjective should be "rota"
to agree with the feminine noun.
