What is the difference between "tu" and "su"?
"Tu" and "Su" both mean "your"
"Tu" is used with speaking to a child or with someone who is familiar.
"Su" is used when speaking to people you don't know or to older people. (respectful)
¿Cuál es tu ocupación? - Use when speaking with a child or to people who are familiar to you.
¿Cuál es su ocupación? - Use when speaking to people you don't know or to older people.
¿Cuál es tu trabajo? -Use when speaking with a child or to people who are familiar to you.
¿Cuál es su trabajo? - Use when speaking to people you don't know or to older people.
I was told that "bombera- firefighter" for the female supposedly doesn't exist, because it's a man's job. If there are any female firefighters in Spanish speaking countries they most likely fall under the word "bombero". If in fact my sources are correct and "bombera" doesn't exist, it does now here at L4F.
On another note... "Yo soy policia." is for both men and women. "Yo soy policio." does not exist, and never will.
