Adjectives are describing words.
Adjectives describe nouns.

In these videos, you will learn that in Spanish,
the adjective comes after the noun. In English the
adjective comes before the noun.
Spanish Adjectives end in an "o" and "a"
for ie.
Masculine Feminine
feo - ugly                  fea - ugly
limpio - clean            limpia - clean
cerrado - closed         cerrada - closed
Question: If an "adjective" ends in "o", does it also end in "a"?
Answer: Yes, if an adjective ends in "o" then it also ends in "a" and
if the adjective ends in "a" it also ends in "o".
cerrada(f)     cerrado(m)
abierta(f)      abierto(m)
cansada(f)    cansado(m)
Question: How do you know when to use an "a" or an "o" ending?
Answer:
Take notice of the ending of the "nouns".
If the "noun" ends in "o", then the adjective must agree with the noun and also end in an "o".
If the "noun" ends in an "a", then the adjective must end in an "a" too.

For example. "
The noun "la puerta" ends in an "a", so adjectives
will end in an "a" describing the door.
La puerta cerrada. - The closed door.
La puerta abierta. - The open door
La puerta sucia. - The dirty door.
La puerta limpia. - The clean door.
el armario - the closet
El armario abierto - The open closet.
Because "el armario" ends in an "o", the adjective "abierto" agrees with the noun by ending in an "o" too.
El armario cerrado. - The closed closet.
El armario sucio. - The dirty closet.
El armario limpio. - The clean closet.
If the noun is plural then the adjectives need to be plural too.
For ie.
la puerta - las puertas
All I did was add an "s" to "puerta" and made "puertas" and changed
the article to "las". las puertas - the doors.
Las puertas cerradas.  - The closed doors.
Question: Why did you use "las" in "las puertas" why not "los"?
Answer: I used "las" because I know the plural of "la puerta" is
"las puertas - the doors". "Los" is used in the plurals of "el and un".
For example
El amario sucio. - The dirty closet.
Los amarios sucios. - The dirty closets.
