¿Qué quiere hacer? #3

¿Qué quieres hacer? - What do you want to do? (familiar)
¿Qué quiere hacer? - What do you want to do? (formal)

Note: You do not need to use the pronouns
"yo, el, ella, nosotros, ellos, ellas, uds,"
in front of the conjugated verb.

Quiero is first person "I want" in the verb "querer - to want"

Yo quiero estudiar. - I want to study.
(yo) Quiero escribir una carta. - I want to write a letter.
(yo) Quiero montar mi bicicleta. - I want to ride my bicycle.
Yo quiero montar a caballo. - I want to horse back ride.

¿Qué quiere hacer? #4

¿Qué quieres hacer? - What do you want to do? (familiar)
¿Qué quiere hacer? - What do you want to do? (formal)

Note: "al" is "a + el put together. So in reality the sentence really reads
"Yo quiero jugar a el tenis." but because the vowel "a" and the vowel "e"
are next to each other, you get rid of the "e" and put the "a" and "l" together.
It's the same thing in English but instead of dropping the vowel we separate
the vowels with an "n". For ie. "a elephant" we change to "an elephant".
Look for "al" when there is a masculine noun next to an "a - to"

Yo quiero jugar al tenis. - I want to play tenis.
Yo quiero jugar tenis. - I want to play tennis.

Yo quiero ir a la playa. - I want to go to the beach.
Quiero ir a la playa. - I want to go to the beach.

Yo quiero jugar al baloncesto. - I want to play basketball.
Yo quiero jugar baloncesto. - I want to play basketball.

Quiero viajar a Europa. - I want to travel to Europe.

Quiero ver la televisión. - I want to watch television.

Yo quiero estudiar. - I want to study.
Quiero estudiar. - I want to study.

Very pleased with languages4free.  I am glad its available, seniors are supposed to keep their minds active and this appeals to me much more than cross-words.  I think its a great and wonderful thing to do and thank you for making it possible.

I thank you so much for this site. I have some Spanish language experience and find all the areas you've covered here to be informative and helpful. I really like the format, especially the reading and writing sections. It's very helpful to see the accent marks when correcting my written statements.
Thanks again for making this a free site. Learning anything these days is limited by your ability to pay, not your willingness to learn or improve.

I have only just started on this educational journey to brush up on my Spanish, and I am duly impressed with this site.  I am excited to learn, or re-learn what I was taught in high school and by my parent's many hispanic (mostly Cuban) friends when I was growing up.  I'm now nearly 50 and know that more than ever, a second language, particularly Spanish, is a great asset.  Thanks for helping me, and others.
